The same calculator works as a sole activity calculator, a small partnership calculator and a UAB tax calculator. What changes is how the owner takes money out, and which taxes that triggers.
Sole activity (IDV) tax calculator
Sole activity is taxed on profit: revenue minus costs. Social insurance of 12.52 % and health insurance of 6.98 % are calculated on 90 % of profit, and income tax is 20 % with a credit, so the effective rate starts around 5 % on small earnings. Costs can be actual or a flat 30 % of revenue. There is no corporate tax and no dividends.

Small partnership (MB) tax calculator
An MB member takes money out as funds for personal needs and as dividends. The funds carry progressive income tax with the exempt amount, and the MB pays member social insurance of 13.83 % and health insurance of 6.98 % on 90 % of them. Remaining profit is taxed at 0 / 7 / 17 % and dividends at 15 % with no social insurance, which often makes an MB cheaper than a UAB for the same payout.

- MB: member funds for personal needs carry progressive income tax with the exempt amount, and the MB pays social insurance of 13.83 % and health insurance of 6.98 % on 90 % of those funds (50 % until 2026-06-30). After deductions the profit is taxed at 0 / 7 / 17 % and dividends at 15 % income tax with no social insurance.
- Sole activity: social insurance of 12.52 % and health insurance of 6.98 % are calculated on 90 % of profit (revenue minus costs). Common questions about Lithuanian business form taxes
How much tax does sole activity pay in 2026?
Social insurance of 12.52 % and health insurance of 6.98 % are due on 90 % of profit. Income tax is 20 % with a credit, so up to 20 000 € of taxable income the effective rate is around 5 %, rising gradually to 20 % between 20 000 and 42 500 €. On 60 000 € of revenue with 18 000 € of costs the total burden usually lands around 35-38 % of profit.
Is sole activity or an MB cheaper?
At lower earnings sole activity is usually cheaper, because the income tax credit applies and there is no separate company to administer. As profit grows an MB tends to win, because part of the money can be paid out as dividends taxed at 15 % with no social insurance. Enter your own figures to compare both on one screen.
What is the difference between MB and UAB taxes?
The key difference is how the owner takes money out. A UAB director works under an employment contract, so a 1.77 % employer contribution is added on top of the salary. An MB member withdraws funds for personal needs, and the MB pays 13.83 % social insurance and 6.98 % health insurance on them with no employer contribution. Corporate tax and the 15 % dividend tax are the same for both.
How much tax does a UAB pay on dividends?
Dividends carry 15 % personal income tax. The profit has already been taxed with corporate income tax before that, so the combined burden depends on whether the 0 %, 7 % or 17 % corporate rate applies.
When does a UAB pay 0 % corporate tax?
The zero rate applies for the first two tax periods when annual revenue stays below 300 000 €, the owners are natural persons and there were no reorganisations. Afterwards the rate is 7 % up to 300 000 € of revenue and 17 % above it.
What social insurance does sole activity pay?
12.52 % social insurance and 6.98 % health insurance on 90 % of profit, with the base capped at 43 average wages, or 99 422 € per year. In the first year of self-employment the social insurance part can be waived, which the calculator offers as a checkbox.
How are MB member funds taxed?
They count as employment-related income, so progressive income tax with the exempt amount applies. From 2026-07-01 the contribution base is 90 % of the withdrawn funds; until 2026-06-30 it was 50 %. The calculator lets you switch between both.
What is the sole activity income tax credit?
It is a relief that reduces the 20 % income tax. Up to 20 000 € of taxable income the effective rate is about 5 %, between 20 000 and 42 500 € the credit tapers away, and above 42 500 € there is no credit and the 20 / 25 / 32 % brackets apply.
Does the calculator include VAT?
No. It covers income tax, social and health insurance, corporate tax and dividend tax. VAT, real estate tax and other specific taxes are out of scope.
Are these figures official?
No. They are indicative calculations based on the publicly published 2026 rates, meant for comparing business forms. Check with an accountant or the tax authority before deciding.
